Earth Day Activity For Kids - Energy Saving Ideas In Our Home To Protect the Planet Earth

Earth day is being celebrated every year on April 22nd since 1970 to promote planet's environmental awareness among people. This year on April 22, 2020, it is celebrating its 50th anniversary

When And How To Educate Children About The Earth?

Every day should be Earth day, but it is the best time to educate our children about the importance of protecting and caring about the planet. It is suggested to teach children about caring for the environment at an early age so that they can live in and contribute towards a healthy environment for the future generations to come. It can be done by involving children in practicing simple day-to-day actions such as recycling and making simple projects with recyclable and reusable items, using less paper, using water cautiously, switching off lights when not in use, connecting oneself with nature etc.

Collecting And Organizing Information From Different Areas In The House

Take your kids on a walk in the house. How exciting does it sound! Doing a walk and creating a fun environment will encourage children to participate in the activity. This will give children an opportunity to explore their own environment. During the walk ask questions and allow children to ask questions to you.

When visiting each room ask children to think about some energy saving ideas they can see in that room. Share some of the ideas mention below. Allow ample time to children to explore and gather information. Then children will organize the information by documenting their information in the appropriate section. Children can record their observation while staying in the area or document all their information at the end of the walk.
